The ID. Buzz pre‑booking has now closed. We will open for order on the 13th of July. Please contact your local Van Centre for more information.
What is ID. Buzz pre‑booking?
ID. Buzz pre‑booking gives you access to a priority ordering window for ID. Buzz, including our ‘1st Edition’ launch model. As a pre-booker, you will be given a two week priority ordering window, meaning that your order will be processed ahead of any orders placed by the general public.
The pre‑booking window opens on the 30th May 2022 and will close on the 30th June 2022. Please note, the 1st Edition is subject to factory quota and availability. As such we are unable to guarantee that all requests for a 1st Edition will be met, however an alternative ID. Buzz will be offered.
N.B. We are unable to take any pre‑booking requests for ID. Buzz Cargo.
The ID. Buzz has already generated a lot of attention, including winning Top Gear’s Electric Car of the Year for 2022 – all before even going on sale. Therefore, we do anticipate customer demand for this model to be extremely high which is likely to result in long lead times. As a pre-booker, if you go on to place an order during the priority ordering window, your order will be processed ahead of any orders placed by the general public when we officially open for order in July.
Pre‑booking
No. Once confirmed, your pre‑booking fee will give you access to a priority ordering window, meaning you will have access to ID. Buzz production slots ahead of the general public. You will be given the opportunity to specify your vehicle during the priority ordering window once we open for order in July.
Your pre‑booking must be made in the name and address of the individual that will take ownership and be the registered keeper of the vehicle and it is non- transferable.
The pre‑booking fee is £2,000 minimum and is paid to your preferred Volkswagen Van Centre or Volkswagen Retailer. You should request a confirmation of payment from your chosen retailer.
You will receive an email communication directly from Volkswagen Group and not your preferred Volkswagen Van Centre or Volkswagen Retailer to confirm your pre‑booking. Until you have received this communication, your access to the priority ordering window is not confirmed. The communication will be sent to the email address provided when you completed the enquiry form and will contain confirmation that you have secured access to the priority ordering window for ID. Buzz. Your confirmation will include a unique reference number that should be used in any future communications with your preferred retailer and will be required at point of order.
When we open for order in July, your chosen Volkswagen Van Centre or Volkswagen Retailer will contact you to confirm that you wish to proceed with an order for your perfect ID. Buzz. You will be able to choose and confirm your preferred specification at this point.
There will be a choice of three different trim levels; the limited edition ‘1st Edition’ launch model, ‘Life’ or ‘Style’ models. Some high level specification information is available on the website from 30th May 2022 to help you choose your preferred model.
The ID. Buzz is incredibly well specified with LED headlights, “Discover Media” navigation system, intelligent ID. Light and a broad range of driver assist systems all as standard. There are three trim levels to choose from; the ‘1st Edition’ launch model, ‘Life’ or ‘Style’. More detailed information, including a product brochure can be found on our website here. This will be available from the 30th May.
It’s important to note, all ID. Buzz versions available to pre-book feature five seats and a 77kWh battery.
We will be introducing a seven seat version in late 2023 so if this is more your style, please register your interest with your local retailer. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept pre-bookings for any future versions.
The ‘1st Edition’ launch model has a defined specification, but you will have a choice of exterior colours. Alternatively, ‘Life’ or ‘Style’ trim levels will have a selection of option packages including a choice of alloy wheels, styling seat packages and more. Full information on option packages will be available on our website in July 2022.
We have provided you with on-the-road prices for each of the trim levels in order to assist you with your decision to pre-book. When we are officially open for order in July, your preferred Volkswagen Van Centre or Volkswagen Retailer will be in touch with full pricing information including details of finance offers where applicable.
We want to make sure as many people as possible have the opportunity to own an ID. Buzz so we are limiting pre‑booking to one vehicle per household, based on your address and postcode.
Sorry, your pre‑booking is linked to you personally and cannot be transferred. Therefore the pre‑booking must be made in the name and address of the individual who will take ownership of the vehicle.
All pre-bookers must complete the pre‑booking enquiry form on the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles website and select a preferred Volkswagen Van Centre or Volkswagen Retailer, who will contact you to take a pre‑booking fee. If you go directly to a retailer and pay a pre‑booking fee without completing the enquiry form, this will not secure access to the priority ordering window. You will still be able to place an order, but your order will be processed after pre-bookers’ orders have been processed.
As above, all pre-bookers must complete the enquiry form on the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles website and select a preferred Volkswagen Van Centre or Volkswagen Retailer, who will contact you to take a pre‑booking fee. This is the only way we can allocate a unique reservation number to you and give you access to the priority ordering window.
Your reservation number is unique to you and ensures that when you place your order, it is processed before any orders received from the general public.
Your preferred Volkswagen Van Centre or Volkswagen Retailer will input your unique reservation number into the ordering system once you confirm your order.
Cancelling a reservation
Yes, of course. You can cancel at any time prior to confirming your order with your preferred Volkswagen Van Centre or Volkswagen Retailer.
To ensure you stop receiving communications from Volkswagen Group in relation to a pre‑booking that you have subsequently cancelled, unsubscribe from future communications.
Once you have entered into a contractual agreement with your preferred Volkswagen Van Centre or Volkswagen Retailer (i.e. you have turned your pre‑booking into a signed order) any cancellations should be discussed with them directly.
You should contact the Volkswagen Van Centre or Volkswagen Retailer with whom you placed your pre‑booking fee and request a refund.
No. If you change your mind prior to confirming an order and entering into a contractual arrangement with your preferred Volkswagen Van Centre or Volkswagen Retailer, you should receive a full refund from your preferred retailer. Please refer to your preferred Volkswagen Van Centre or Volkswagen Retailer for full terms and conditions.
Turning your pre‑booking into an order
We anticipate that we will open for order in mid to late July 2022. At this point in time, your preferred Volkswagen Van Centre or Volkswagen Retailer will contact you to re-confirm that you wish to place an order for your perfect ID. Buzz. You will also be able to choose the exact specification and discuss finance options (if applicable).
From the point we open for order, we will open a priority ordering window of two weeks for pre-bookers to confirm and place an order with their preferred Volkswagen Van Centre or Volkswagen Retailer, once this period has ended we can no longer prioritise your order for build.
There are a number of factors that will determine delivery lead times. First customer deliveries are anticipated in January 2023. Subsequent delivery lead times will be subject to a number of different factors including, but not limited to pre-booker demand, requested specification, factory production volumes and component supply. Whilst every effort will be made to produce prebooker vehicles in the order in which they are received, we can not guarantee that the time of delivery will correspond to the time you paid your deposit or the date you placed your order and we can not give priority over any other person paying the pre‑booking fee. We anticipate that some pre-bookers could see lead times in excess of 18-24 months.
Once your order has been placed, your preferred Volkswagen Van Centre or Volkswagen Retailer will keep you informed of likely lead times and once confirmed into production, you will be given a firm build date.
Yes. The 1st Edition launch model has a defined specification, but you will be able to select your preferred colour. You will also have the option to choose a ‘Life’ or ‘Style’ trim level. With these derivatives, you will also have some additional option packages to choose from to customise the vehicle further.
At the point we open for order, a configurator will be available on the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles website to assist you with configuring your perfect ID. Buzz.
Unfortunately it is not possible to test drive the ID. Buzz before making a pre‑booking or confirming an order. The first demonstrator vehicles should be available to test drive via our Volkswagen Van Centre and Volkswagen Retailers in Autumn 2022.
We will ask that you select a preferred Volkswagen Van Centre or Volkswagen Retailer at point of pre‑booking. This is the retailer that will hold your pre‑booking fee. If you wish to change your mind at a later date, you would have to contact the retailer holding your pre‑booking fee and request a refund. You can then approach an alternative Volkswagen partner with your unique reference number, provided that it is within the two week window for pre-booker ordering and provided your household has not already placed an order with another Volkswagen Van Centre or Volkswagen retailer.
Once your order is confirmed, your preferred Volkswagen Van Centre or Volkswagen Retailer will discuss how you wish to incorporate your pre‑booking payment into your future purchase arrangements. Should you wish to cancel at any point please refer to the cancellation section. Your pre‑booking fee will go towards the overall purchase of your ID. Buzz and is not a fee that is payable in addition to the vehicle price.
Payment
Once you have finalised your order with your preferred Volkswagen Van Centre or Volkswagen Retailer, they will discuss your payment options and deadlines.
Yes. Once we open for order, finance options will be available. Your preferred Volkswagen Van Centre or Volkswagen Retailer will discuss these with you.
Other
Pre‑booking is available to retail customers only and is limited to one vehicle per household. If you have a requirement for multiple vehicles, please discuss this directly with your local Volkswagen Van Centre or Volkswagen Retailer.
Sorry, no. Pre‑booking is limited to one vehicle per household so if we have already confirmed one pre‑booking, you will not receive confirmation from Volkswagen Group for any subsequent pre‑booking fees that you may have paid.
Pre‑booking is only available on the ID. Buzz 5 seat, 77kwH model. If you are interested in the ID. Buzz Cargo, please speak directly to your local Volkswagen Van Centre. Ordering for the ID. Buzz Cargo will start later in 2022.
