Terms and Conditions:
These terms ('Terms') apply to you when you:
- Reserve a vehicle through our online reservation scheme via www.volkswagen-vans.co.uk ('Site'); and
- pay your reservation fee online, the payment will then be transferred to your preferred Volkswagen Van Centre ('Volkswagen Retailer'),
Please select your preferred Volkswagen Retailer carefully. Your reservation fee and reserved vehicle will be allocated to this retailer. If you elect to change retailers, your reservation will be lost and you must request a refund of your reservation fee.
Please read these Terms carefully before you complete your reservation and pay your reservation fee.
These Terms tell you who we are, the details of new Amarok reservation scheme, how to cancel your reservation and ask for a refund of your reservation fee and other important information. In particular, please read the terms relating to the limitations of our liability to you. We recommend that you print or save a copy of these Terms for future reference.
When you reserve a vehicle through our online reservation scheme, you confirm that you accept and will comply with these Terms. If you do not accept these Terms, then you should not pay your reservation fee.

1. Who We Are
1.1 This reservation scheme is operated by Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, a trading division of Volkswagen Group United Kingdom Limited ('we', 'our' or 'us', as applicable). Our registered office address is at Yeomans Drive, Blakelands, Milton Keynes MK14 5AN. Our registered company number is 514809 and our VAT registration number is 217990930.
2. Reserving a vehicle
2.1 The Site includes a tool that allows you to search for your desired specification vehicle. If a vehicle meeting your specification is available, you will be able to pay your reservation fee online and reserve the vehicle. This vehicle will then be reserved for you for a period of two weeks following the date the model officially opens for orders (which is expected to be in June) (the "Reservation Period"). Once your vehicle is reserved, it will be hidden from the Site (such that it is unable to be viewed by other customers).
2.2 Please note that the display of vehicles and search results on the Site, and your use of the tool to reserve a vehicle and pay your reservation fee is not an order to purchase and/or a contractual sale of the vehicle that has been reserved. You will need to place an order to purchase the vehicle with your chosen Volkswagen Retailer within the Reservation Period. Your chosen Volkswagen Retailer will contact you at the point the model officially opens for order to progress your purchase.
2.3 The sale agreement for any vehicle reserved is not concluded on the Site and you will need to visit the applicable Volkswagen Retailer to make your purchase. The purchase process will start when your Volkswagen Retailer contacts you. If you decide to purchase the reserved vehicle, the agreement for the purchase of the vehicle will be between you and the applicable Volkswagen Retailer. We (Volkswagen Group United Kingdom Limited) do not enter into these agreements and, as we are not a party to them, do not have any obligations under them.
2.4 Please see section 7 below for more information on the ordering process for the production vehicle.
2.5 Customers who use our reservation scheme and pay a reservation fee to secure access to reserve their vehicle under these Terms are referred to as 'Customers' in these Terms.
2.6 While we endeavour to ensure that information is accurate on the website, it is always possible that errors may occur. VED and VAT rates may change from time to time and this may affect pricing. Prices are otherwise subject to change at any time. Always confirm prices and specification with your chosen Volkswagen Retailer prior to ordering. We cannot (and Volkswagen Retailers cannot) accept responsibility for your reliance on information contained on the website.
2.7 So long as you have provided the appropriate marketing consents, Customers will be kept up-to-date with the latest new Amarok news. Closer to the model officially opening for order, the Volkswagen Retailer you selected will be in touch to progress your order.
2.8 Customers will be kept informed of the official open for order date by their chosen Volkswagen Retailer. We currently anticipate that this will be in mid-June 2023 (but this is subject to change, your chosen Volkswagen Retailer will keep you informed). If you pay your reservation fee and reserve a vehicle, then it is your responsibility to place an order for the final production vehicle with your chosen Volkswagen Retailer during the Reservation Period.
3. Eligibility
3.1 UK consumers aged 18+ who reserve a vehicle using the Site and pay a reservation fee are eligible to participate in the reservation scheme under these Terms.
3.2 Reservations are non-transferable. The individual or business that paid the reservation fee must be the individual or business who places an order for the vehicle, enters into the purchase agreement with the Volkswagen Retailer and ultimately takes ownership of the vehicle for personal or business use.
3.3 You agree not to use the reservation scheme or any features on the site for any re-sale purposes. Reservations deemed to be made with the intent to re-sell will be refunded and the reservation will be void.
4. Reservation fee
4.1 A reservation fee payment of £1000 is required to reserve your new Amarok. Your reservation is not complete until you have paid the reservation fee.
4.2 If you go on to order the production vehicle in the Reservation Period then the full reservation fee payment will be deducted from the final purchase price payable by you under the purchase agreement with your Volkswagen Retailer (see section 7 below).
4.3 If you do not go on to purchase the final production vehicle (or purchase a vehicle after the Reservation Period), your reserved vehicle will be relisted on the Site and your reservation fee payment will be refunded in full to you in accordance with section 6 below. You can also request a refund of your reservation fee payment at any time before entering into a binding purchase agreement with a Volkswagen Retailer for the production vehicle – see section 6 below.
4.4 Reservation fees can only be paid online (via the Site) and payment will be transferred directly to your chosen Volkswagen Retailer. Upon payment of your reservation fee you will receive email confirmation of payment. You will not be able to pay a reservation fee in person at a Volkswagen Retailer.
5. Your reservation
5.1 The Site includes a tool that allows you to search for your desired specification from vehicles that may be available from our inbound inventory. If a vehicle meeting your specification is available, you will be able to pay your reservation fee online and reserve the vehicle.
5.2 Payment of your reservation fee secures your desired vehicle for the Reservation Period. The following steps have to be taken before your reservation is confirmed:
(a) Applying. Visit the site and complete your reservation with your personal details, selected retailer and other information requested on the form and press the "reserve" button;
(b) Payment of the reservation fee. Payment of your reservation fee must be completed on the site. The payment will be transferred to the Volkswagen Retailer you selected as your preferred retailer as part of the reservation process.
(c) Acknowledgement of your reservation. Once you have paid your reservation fee you will receive email acknowledgement (to the email address provided) that your reservation has been confirmed along with details of the vehicle specification that you have reserved.
5.3 If we cannot grant you access to the reservation scheme. If we are unable to grant you access to the reservation scheme; for example, but without limitation, if your payment is declined by the card provider; the Volkswagen Retailer is unable to process the transaction or the funds for your reservation fee do not clear; the reservation scheme is no longer available; the limit on reservations has been met; or this scheme has been cancelled; your Volkswagen Retailer will inform you of this by email.
5.4 Unique reference number. When we confirm your reservation, we will issue you with a unique reference number by email to the email address provided when completing the reservation. The unique reference number is personal to you and is the unique identifier of the vehicle that you have reserved. It is not transferable to any other party or vehicle.
6. Reservation fee Refunds
6.1 You can cancel your reservation and request a refund of your reservation fee at any time prior to any subsequent binding order for the purchase of a production vehicle. Please contact your selected Volkswagen Retailer directly and request a refund.
6.2 A refunded reservation fee ends all rights to the vehicle that you had reserved.
6.3 If you do not place your order with your chosen Volkswagen Retailer within the Reservation Period, please contact your selected Volkswagen Retailer directly and request a refund.
7. Vehicle Order and Purchase Agreement
7.1 Customers will be contacted by their chosen Volkswagen retailer with the dates when the model will officially open for order. If you have reserved a vehicle and paid a reservation fee under these Terms, then you will be able to place your order with a Volkswagen Retailer for the vehicle you have reserved. Confirmation of your order for the production vehicle will be when the final purchase agreement is signed.
7.2 To purchase the vehicle you have reserved, you will need to visit your chosen Volkswagen Retailer (i.e. the retailer that you selected and paid your reservation fee to as part of the reservation process) to enter into the relevant agreement(s). A representative of your chosen Volkswagen Retailer will provide and discuss with you the terms of the contract for the purchase of the vehicle and, if you decide to proceed with the purchase, the contract will be entered into with the relevant Volkswagen Retailer (and not with us). It is exclusively up to the Volkswagen Retailer to provide you with all the pre-contractual information about the vehicle. Please address any queries or issues to the Volkswagen Retailer.
7.3 In the unlikely event that the vehicle you reserve is unable to be built or is built to a specification that is different to that which you reserved, or if there is an error in the pricing or the price changes, then you will be notified of this and are free to amend your order or cancel your reservation. If you cancel your reservation, the Volkswagen Retailer will refund your reservation fee.
7.4 Please note that we cannot apply your reservation fee to any order for the production vehicle other than the vehicle that you reserved.
7.5 The first customer deliveries of the production vehicle are currently expected to begin in July 2023 (subject to change at our sole discretion). Time of delivery may be impacted by different factors, such as demand, factory production volumes, component supply, requested specification, engine, trim and options, the corresponding time of production and your order's position in the queue. Therefore, the time of delivery may not correspond to the time you paid your reservation fee or the time of your order – customers will be advised of likely lead times by the applicable Volkswagen Retailer on placing their order for the production vehicle. After placing an order for the production vehicle, customers will be updated on progress by their Volkswagen Retailer.
7.6 You must select your preferred Volkswagen Retailer at the time of completing the reservation and paying your reservation fee. The vehicle you have reserved will be allocated to the Volkswagen Retailer that you selected and to whom your reservation fee was paid. If you elect to change retailers, your reservation will be lost and you must request a refund of your reservation fee.
8. Termination of the reservation scheme
8.1 We may close the reservation scheme to new applicants for any reason at any time. We will endeavour to provide notice on the Site before closing access to the scheme.
8.2 We may terminate the reservation scheme at any time, including without limitation if the vehicle does not go into production as scheduled for any reason. In such circumstances, Volkswagen Retailers will refund all reservation fees paid by the payment method and to the card or other instrument which was used to pay the reservation fee.
9 Changes to these Terms
9.1 We may change these Terms at any time by providing notice on the Site and by email to customers who have paid a reservation fee. You are advised to check regularly for any such notices. If you do not agree with such changes, you may cancel your reservation at any time and receive a refund of your reservation fee from the Volkswagen Retailer in accordance with section 6 above.
10 Our Liability to You
10.1 We are under a legal duty to provide a reservation scheme that conforms to the description on the Site and in these Terms. We will provide the reservation scheme with reasonable skill and care.
10.2 We are responsible for foreseeable loss or damage caused by us. If we fail to comply with our obligations to you under these Terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or our negligence, but we are not responsible for any loss or damage that is not foreseeable. Loss or damage is foreseeable if it is an obvious consequence of our breach or if it was contemplated by you and us at the time we entered into a contract on the basis of these Terms.
10.3 We are not liable for business losses. You agree not to use the reservation scheme or any features on the site, for any commercial, business or re-sale purposes, and we have no liability to you for any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption or loss of business opportunity.
10.4 We do not exclude or limit in any way our liability to you where it would be unlawful to do so. We therefore do not in any way exclude or limit our liability under or in connection with any contract with you based on these Terms for:
10.4.1 death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
10.4.2 fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
10.4.3 any matter for which it would be illegal for us to exclude or attempt to exclude our liability.
11. Privacy Notice
11.1 Please refer to our Privacy Notice for information about how we will use your personal information in connection with the reservation scheme and how it will be shared.
12. Other important terms
12.1 Site availability and terms of use. We try to make the Site and the reservation scheme available at all times, but, of course, due to the inherent nature of online and internet based services, we cannot guarantee this. 12.2 Getting advice about your consumer rights. As a consumer, you have legal rights in relation to services that are not provided with reasonable skill and care or not as described. Advice about your legal rights is available from your local Citizens' Advice Bureau or Trading Standards office. Nothing in these Terms will affect these legal rights.
12.3 We may transfer this agreement to someone else. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms to another organisation within our group.
12.4 You need our consent to transfer your rights to someone else. You may only transfer your rights or your obligations under these Terms to another person if we agree to this in writing.
12.5 If a court finds part of these Terms illegal, the rest will continue in force. Each of the sections of these terms operates separately. If any court or relevant authority decides that any of them are unlawful, the remaining sections will remain in full force and effect.
12.6 Which laws apply to these Terms and where you may bring legal proceedings. These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and we and you can bring legal proceedings in the English courts. Nothing in this section 13.6 shall deprive you of the right to bring or defend proceedings in your home state nor of the protection afforded to you by the mandatory rules of law of the country in which you live. For example, if you live in Scotland you can bring legal proceedings in either the Scottish or the English courts and if you live in Northern Ireland you can bring legal proceedings in either the Northern Irish or English courts.
12.7 Reliance on these Terms. We intend to rely on these written Terms and any document expressly referred to in them in relation to their subject matter. We and you will be legally bound by these Terms.
12.8 We are not responsible for delays outside our control. If we are prevented or delayed from complying with our obligations under these Terms by anything you (or anyone acting on your behalf) does or fails to do, or as a result of events or circumstances beyond our reasonable control, our inability or delay in performing our obligations will not be deemed to be in breach of contract.
12.9 References to 'including' and other similar expressions. In these Terms, words that appear after the expression 'include', 'including', 'other', 'for example', 'such as' or 'in particular' (or any similar expression) will not limit the meaning of the words appearing before such expression.
12.10 "Writing" includes emails. When we use the words "writing" or "written" in these terms, this includes emails.
12.11 Waiver. If you breach these Terms and we choose to ignore your breach, or if we delay in taking steps against you, we will still be entitled to use our rights and remedies at a later date or in any other situation where you breach the Terms again.
