A new interior concept with enhanced functionality: the all-new California is a campervan designed for every adventure, while also offering plenty of practical features for daily use. The all-new California continues the Volkswagen campervan legacy.
3-room concept
The all-new California comes with two sliding side doors as standard, making the campervan more flexible for everyday life. The sliding door on the driver's side ensures comfortable and easy entry and exit. The second sliding door, on the passenger side, together with the completely redesigned kitchen and an external folding table, enables greater versatility for cooking and outdoor eating. The kitchen available on Coast and Ocean trims has a gas hob and sink, located directly by the sliding door. The cool box is accessible from the inside and outside, and is protected from the weather with the optional awning. With this second sliding door as standard, the all-new California offers a three-zone concept for camp sites.

Highly flexible seating
More spacious camping is a given in the all-new California. Instead of a manual handbrake, the electric parking brake allows for extra space between the driver's and front passenger's seats (both adjustable in height, and up to 180 degree rotation). There is plenty of space behind the driver's seat, and the two movable and removable individual seats in the rear passenger compartment provide more space for long objects, such as surfboards. They also offer additional flexibility and greater comfort, thanks to the sleeping function and integrated drawers.
Smart camping
Digital features and intelligent assistance systems make practicality standard in the all-new California. Climate control in the passenger area, interior heating via the auxiliary heater, ambient light control (all around roof lining) and many other functions are all easily accessible via three touchpoints: the California app, infotainment display, and the new camper control unit integrated in the C-pillar with 12.7 cm (5-inch) portrait touch display.
More freedom even off the road: California eHybrid 4MOTION
The new California eHybrid 4MOTION will get you to your destination with confidence. The eHybrid model uses the combined efficiency of an electric motor and a high-tech TSI engine for maximum range and a towing capacity of up to 2,000 kg. Perfect for globetrotters with boats or motorbikes in tow.
Thanks to hybrid power and 4MOTION all-wheel drive, which automatically engages the rear axle when required, you can reliably master even rough terrain - whether muddy camping meadows, gravel or snow-covered roads. California eHybrid 4MOTION offers a purely electric range of up to 53 miles2 in the WLTP cycle and is now available order in all trim levels.
